What the photographer likes about the image: |
This photograph is particularly meaningful to me, since the main
subject is my oldest son. The clouds were shot right after a
very nasty storm, when the sun was just peeking out. This is
what I think gives it the overall "easy" feeling. |
|
Techniques Used: |
I used a number of different techniques on this photo, mainly
because I had just gotten the Arcsoft Photo Studio 2.0 and was
trying out different techniques within the program. The clouds
were swirled using the "whirlpool" filter of the program.
Originally, I hadn't planned on keeping this photo, so I wasn't
too exacting. As a result, the nose on the boy had to be partially
reconstructed, using the airbrush and cloning features, along
with a slight amount of blurring. |
|
Things to notice: |
The face is partially transparent, not enough to let you actually
see through it, but just enough to soften it into the background
nicely. A little bit of special effects takes this picture beyond
an ordinary snapshot and into a work of artistic expression. |
