What the photographer likes about the image:	It is a picture of my mother who has suffered a lot of memory loss. She used to love to prepare meals, but no longer has the capacity to do so. In this photograph I was able to preserve a memory of her doing what she loves to do.
Techniques Used:	Careful lighting and contrast control to emphasize her hands and facial expression. Subdued color (reduced saturation) to give a subtle look to the image.
Things to notice:	Photographs can record and preserve our memories in very powerful ways.
