Photo Title: |
Mallard Flight |
|
Photographer: |
Terri L. Norris |
|
Location of Photograph: |
Buck Creek State Park, Springfield, Ohio |

What the photographer likes about the image: |
The contrasts between the background of the stream's far bank
and the colors of the mallards. |
|
Techniques Used: |
I used a program mode, which selected a shutter speed of 1/800,
and an aperture of 6. The sharp focus of both background and
foreground create a feeling of depth. Actually, I just got lucky.
I went out to take photos of a group of swans and walked right
up to a flock of mallards. When they became startled, I just
started snapping and was fortunate enough to get this photo.
My husband and I both thought it looked so good that no one would
believe it's the real thing! |

Things to notice: |
Photo looks almost like a painting. Photographer had been a relative
newcomer to digital photography. The technology freed her creative
expression. Freezes a key instant. Good eye of photographer for
composition in a split second shot. |
