What the photographer likes about the image: |
Disney illuminates Cinderella's castle with varying colored floodlights
throughout the evening, making it a natural photographic subject.
Some years ago I had taken a nice photo of the castle with my
older D-500L digital camera and I wanted a similar shot with
my newer, much higher resolution C-2500L. This shot offsets the
bronze figures of Walt Disney and his first creation, Mickey
Mouse, against the fantasy of one of his later masterpieces. |

Techniques Used: |
I set the camera for ISO 100, a wide aperture and manual shutter
time. I got behind a post, rested the camera solidly on top,
zoomed in on the castle until it nearly filled the frame and
fired several shots. I bracketed with several _ second exposures
and a 1-second exposure (watching the LCD back panel between
shots). |

Things to notice: |
If you open the picture in an image editor, you can increase
the brightness to see people moving about near the bottom. You'll
notice trees in the photo as well. One of the things I love about
digital cameras is that they capture a great deal of information
in the near black and near white areas of an exposure, which
can be recovered in the digital darkroom. |
